This photo was taken on Calgary/Mohkinstsis/Treaty 7 under the poplar tree at my Gramma’s house, where I am originally from & have ties, reverence & responsibility to. My family is originally from England & from Scotland and I am the first in my direct family born in so-called Canada. I also have ties, deep care and commitment to We Wai Kai Territory/Quadra Island, which has always felt like home and to where I will be returning soon.
I follow the ethos of social anarchy, disability justice & prisoner abolition.
I choose to work in the way I do in part so that I am not beholden to a carceral external clinical board who doesn’t share my values. I answer to my accountability pod & to my mentor. I work with my clients to create safety in crises plans together.
